Stop at Five Islands on our way to Wolfville.
After a quick stop at the Mineral museum (Rosanne spotted a tidal bore in the river outside) we headed back up the Glooscap trail. Another grey day and high tide discouraged us from stopping for more than a look at Five Islands.
Rounding the end of the Minas Basin in Truro, we barely missed watching another tidal bore. We stuck to local roads, avoiding the Labor day traffic for the most part. This area is mostly farming and a nice drive on a sunny day - long slow hills on gently winding roads with the occasional sharp right or left thrown in. As we rounded a corner in Maitland, Rosanne spotted a field of "little signs". Upon backtracking to investigate we discovered a pet cemetery. I found myself imagining all of the pets and there owners from the names on the plaques.....
We arrived in Canning at the Farmhouse Inn in time for check in and afternoon tea. Over tea Our host Doug Boyd told us about brightly painted stone cottages at Huntington Pt. near Halls harbor - A perfect way to use the time before dinner.
You expect to see one of Snow White's friends to come running out to head off to work. An colorful private cottage at Huntington Point.
