Drive to Canso, checkin and explore.
It took much longer to update the trip from Liscombe Lodge than expected. They have an old local phone system, I could hear the relays clicking when I dialed my ISP. The lodge generously loaned me use of an office for about an hour most of which was spent waiting for yesterdays photos to transfer.
On to Canso. We have done this route before and the driving is a blast - empty winding roads thru balsam forest. We kept finding reasons to stop, bread and wine in Sherbrooke, a lighthouse in Port Bickerton. This along with other delays - road construction, a wait for the ferry - pushed our arrival in Canso back to 5pm.
But no loss, our picnic lunch turned into a picnic dinner. With the helpful advice and recommendation of our host, the day ended with a stroll along the peninsula at Little Dover.
Dave wanted to take this home and make a coffee table out of it.
